Climate
Southeast Queensland has hot summers, often with high humidity.
Sub-tropical thunderstorms are common from December to April. June to August is mild or cool. Most rain falls from November to April.

Shops Generally Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm; Sat 9am-4pm. Late-night shopping until 9pm on Thu.
Large stores open Sun until 4pm.
Suburban corner shops often open daily 8am-8pm or later.
Banks Mon-Thu 9:30am-4pm; Fri 9:30am-5pm

Public holidays

Trains
The CityTrain network services include the city (Roma Street, Central Station, Brunswick Street & Fortitude Valley) and lines to Ipswich in the west, Gold Coast and Cleveland in the south and Caboolture and Ferny Grove in the north.
The Airtrain, runs between Brisbane Airport, Brisbane and the Gold Coast

Buses
Brisbane's buses are yellow and green , except for the City Circle bus which yellow and blue. Ordinary tickets can be bought on board, but special passes should be bought from the driver or ticket sales outlets.
Coachtrans 3238 4700 operates buses to the Gold Coast.
Suncoast Pacific 3236 1901 runs buses to the Sunshine Coast

Brisbane Citysights Tours
This air-conditioned bus makes 19 stops on a circuit of Brisbane's inner-suburb attractions. Makes the circuit every 45 minutes. 13 1230

Ferries
Brisbane's CityCats, Cross River Ferries and Inner City Ferries operate seven days a week and offer a relaxing way to explore the Brisbane River and visit tourist sights and attractions between the University of Queensland at St Lucia and Brett's Wharf at Hamiliton.
