Just 55 km south-east of Launceston this park is Tasmania's major ski field for both downhill and cross-country skiing.
Evandale
With its near original Georgian streetscape, connections with colonial artists John Glover and Tom Roberts and John Batman, founder of Melbourne and where "Red" Kelly, Ned's father, lived and was gaoled for sometime. The town holds the Village Fair and the unique National Penny Farthing Championships held on the last Saturday each February and the annual Glover art prize, second richest after the Archibald portrait prize.

Lake Leather
The rich aroma of leather alone is enough to draw you through the door of Lake Leather, located in the National Trust town of Evandale. Once inside you won’t be able to resist hand made leather boots, women’s handbags and fine leather luggage to woven belts and Driza-Bone coats for your K9 friend. Longford
Another National Trust-classified town, and burial place of artist Tom Roberts. South of the town is Woolmers Estate and National Rose Garden a fascinating time capsule of Australian Colonial history. Visit nearby Brickendon for National Estate listed gardens and working farm village.

Pull off the highway for a look around the old gaol, the haunted Commissariat's Cottage (1832), the Court House and Callington Mill.

Woolmers Estate
Woolmers Estate is situated near Longford Tasmania, Australia
twenty-five minutes from Launceston. The Estate has outstanding
cultural significance because it represents a continuous association
with the Thomas Archer family, providing an encapsulated record of six
generations, and the changes to their lifestyle, from the time the
land was first settled circa 1817 to the death of the last heir in
1994.
