George Town

Low Head
Just north of George Town is Australia's oldest, continuously operating pilot station, a maritime museum and a lighthouse. Penguins come ashore nightly.

Narawntapu National Park
Formally Asbestos Ranges National Park. Easily accessible, this park includes beaches, inlets, island headlands, dunes, lagoons, all with amazing wildlife.
Platypus House
Located 48km north of Launceston, on the wharf at Beauty Point, Platypus House is the only place in Tasmania where you can see platypuses and echidnas in daylight in an indoor setting. An interpretation centre explains the animal biology of these unique animals and a theatrette shows a film on the platypus. A cafe serves excellent beverages and snacks and there is a selection of gifts and postcards to remind you of this special place.

Seahorse World
This working farm and aquarium displays weedy sea dragons, seahorses, pipe fish and other endangered species. There is a touch pool and theatrette. Guided tours on the half-hour.
